Contracts
The Office of the Campus Counsel assists campus departments and units in reviewing a multiplicity of contracts, including contracts for the purchase or provision of goods and services when standardized contracts are not utilized, contracts settling grievances and disputes, and contracts involving gifts, real estate and construction, research and affiliations with outside entities. Campus units requiring assistance in negotiating and drafting goods and services contracts should first consult with a representative in the UCLA Campus Purchasing Department. Research contracts should be directed in the first instance to the Office of Contract and Grant Administration.
All contracts submitted for legal advice to the Office of the Campus Counsel should be reviewed in advance by the person who has delegated authority to sign the contract to ensure that any administrative matters are resolved prior to seeking legal counsel.
