Mission Statement

The Office of the Campus Counsel supports the diverse and dynamic educational environment of the University of California Los Angeles, by providing legal advice and assistance related to the activities of the UCLA campus and its professional schools. The mission of the Office of the Campus Counsel is four-fold:

  1. to counsel our UCLA clients in navigating the laws and regulations that govern UCLA in order to prevent legal problems from arising;
  2. to resolve legal problems that do arise as expeditiously, amicably, and effectively as possible;
  3. to assist in the defense and the resolution of those legal problems that ripen into formal litigation or administrative proceedings; and
  4. to inform our UCLA clients about legal requirements and compliance to reduce legal risks to the University.
